About Richmond, BC

Richmond is a city of about 194,000 located entirely on two alluvial islands which were deposited by the Fraser River at the estuary.  Richmond is located immediately south of Vancouver resulting in about a 25 minute commute to the downtown Vancouver area.  Sea Island in Richmond is home to the Vancouver International Airport 2nd busiest in Canada.

Richmond displays a rich vibrant ethnic culture. Transportation now includes the Canada Line light rail commuter service to the passenger transportation centre on the waterfront in Vancouver.  A historic fishing village of Steveston dating from the late 19 century is at the southern Fraser River boundary.
